About

“My desire is to create beautiful pieces of art that glorify God…”God is the creator and leader of my life. Without His word I would be lost, without his love I would not exist. Therefore, I give Him my everything! My family is everything to me and I adore my dog. I love to crochet, make and eat pies, knit, eat chocolate, drink coffee, play in the dirt, collect beads, read and work crossword puzzles.”

Hey~

cindi jan13bThank you for stopping by and visiting my blog.  My name is Cindi and I am the owner and designer of Rustique Art. Rustique Art is where rust is a must!  I love anything rusty, old, vintage, antique and just plain junk.  I even decorate with rusty finds and there are rusty treasures in my garden too.  So it only seemed fitting to name my little company after two things I love, rust and antiques.

I design and create Christian art, home decor and jewelry with rusty wire, vintage elements and beads.  Most of my designs are wall crosses and reflections of my Christian faith.  This blog is my vessel that I use to share my passion and creations with others.  I enjoy  playing in the dirt, planting flowers and now we have broadened our adventures with a vegetable and herb garden.

When it comes to decorating our home, color is not spared.  Most if not all of my furniture is mismatched, comfortable and typically gently used.  Jim and I aren’t ones to buy much of anything new.  We prefer the flea market find, thrift store score or the garage sale deal, even some curbside shopping from time to time. We then bring it home and make it ours by giving it a fresh coat of paint or using it for something else other than what it was made to do.

I began creating Rustique Art designs in 2003 from my studio in our home located in Texas.  Jim and I have been married since 1984, he is an amazing Christ centered man who loves me despite all of my faults and he supports all of  my creative indulgences. We are blessed to have five amazing children, two SILs and 2 DILs, sixteen grandchildren!!!

Our favorite past time besides renovating our home is rummaging through flea markets, salvage centers and thrift shops looking for vintage treasures.

I love your site! I am a Christian, also–and a fellow lover of rust, chipped paint, tattered books, dresser drawers that stick, funky finds, handmade items, and most everything old.

I also love some new things–babies, puppies, kittens, etc. 🙂

I am adding your site to my blogroll on http://northernreflections.wordpress.com/

What an exciting life, for those of us who decorate our homes with comfortable old stuff!

Hi Cindi, what a beautiful website. Your crosses are simply beautiful. Trish Pourron has recommended you to us. We are friends through her family. We go to church with her family. She has suggested that you might be able to guide us in the right direction for a website. We are not in a financial position to hire someone right now, but we do know that it needs to be positioned correctly to be able for people to find it or see it when they “google” or whatever. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am forwarding this website to several in our church, just simply beautiful work. We are also cut flower growers (that is our real day job) and we love the natural look. Thanks Cindi, sybil

    Hi Cindi,

I love a piece that you did I am unable to find it on your website other than on your starter page. It’s of the antique door knob holding what looks like your business card. I would love to know how much that piece would cost? I’m looking on possibly purchasing 15-20.

    Thank you for your help!

    Best,

    Natalie

Hi Cindi, I just found you while doing a little online research for my paintings. I love your blog and your galvanized doorknob test was excellent! I am addicted to patina, and all things metal. I share your love of rust. And am happy to meet you via your blog. I will look for your facebook page next. If you would like to see my work (and I would love for you to take a look!) you can see it on my website http://www.patteormsby.com and on my facebook fan page Patte Reider Ormsby, Art. My rust paintings are in the Oxidation painting albums. “Transport” one of my small works was just juried into “Mid-Atlantic New Painting, 2014” Show at University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA where I live. It is a study for larger paintings I am now working on (hence the online research !) I am looking forward to seeing more of your creativity. Cheers, Patte O.

Hi, i am currently an art student working on 3 dimensional studies and my recent project has the titles of ‘spill drop and break’. Your art links to my project very well and has given me some inspirational ideas. I would improve my research on the topic to know what inspired you to start making 3D pieces out of broken tiles and other materials. If you could get back to me on this and any other extra details that you think could help me with my project that would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    -Shannon

Ok, I am confused. How do you place an order for a cross?

    • Cindi Albright

      Hi Ann,

Thank you for visiting RustiqueArt. I have sent you an email with information on how to order a cross.

      Blessings,
      Cindi
