About

“My desire is to create beautiful pieces of art that glorify God…”God is the creator and leader of my life. Without His word I would be lost, without his love I would not exist. Therefore, I give Him my everything! My family is everything to me and I adore my dogs. I love to crochet, eat chocolate, drink coffee, play in the dirt, collect beads, read, work crossword puzzles, a flea market/salvage junkie at heart.”

Hi~

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog.  My name is Cindi and I am the owner and designer of Rustique Art. Rustique Art is where rust is a must!  I love anything rusty, old, vintage, antique and just plain junk.  I even decorate with rusty finds, there are rusty treasures in my garden too.  So it only seemed fitting to name my little company after two things I love, rust and antiques. I design and create Christian art, home decor and jewelry with rusty wire, vintage elements, beads and gobs of love.  Most of my designs are wall crosses and reflections of my Christian faith.  This blog is my vessel that I use to share my passion and creations with others.  I enjoy  playing in the dirt, planting flowers and now we have broadened our adventures with a vegetable and herb garden.

When it comes to decorating our home, color is not spared.  Most if not all of my furniture is mismatched, comfortable and typically gently used.  Mr. Rust and I aren’t ones to buy much of anything new.  We prefer the flea market find, thrift store score or the garage sale deal, even some curbside shopping from time to time. We then bring it home and make it ours by giving it a fresh coat of paint or using it for something else other than what it was made to do.

I began creating Rustique Art designs in 2003 from my studio in out home located in TX, where I live with Mr. Rust with two of our five children, along with two dogs.  Mr. Rust is a Packer fan that lives  right smack dab in the middle of Dallas Cowboy country.  He endures this with the help of cable and rejoicing openly when the Cowboys lose.  This rubs people the wrong way of course and he’s okay with that.  He bleeds Green and Gold and on weekends during football season, because I love him, so do I.  It’s a wonderful life.   Mr. Rust and I have been married since 1984, he is an amazing Christ centered man who loves me despite all of my faults and he supports all of  my creative indulgences. We are blessed to have five amazing children, one SIL and 2 DILs, ten grandchildren and no, neither one of us is old enough…but we are very thankful and blessed to be young enough to enjoy every one of them.

Our favorite past time besides renovating our home and frolicking in the garden,  is rummaging through flea markets, salvage centers and thrift shops looking for vintage treasures.  Of course after so many years of this there was a need to purge; so Muggsey & Mae Vintage Collectibles joined forces with Rustique Art to form two wonderful venues for your shopping pleasure and I blog about all of this here!

Both shops can be found on Etsy;

Find Rustique Art & Muggsy & Mae on Facebook and both shops tweet through Rustique Art on Twitter.

Blessings,

I love your site! I am a Christian, also–and a fellow lover of rust, chipped paint, tattered books, dresser drawers that stick, funky finds, handmade items, and most everything old.

I also love some new things–babies, puppies, kittens, etc. :)

I am adding your site to my blogroll on http://northernreflections.wordpress.com/

What an exciting life, for those of us who decorate our homes with comfortable old stuff!
