Hi there! Welcome to Rustique Art Blog, If you are just joining me on my 31 Days of Before & After journey, you’re in for a fun ride. I love to see what happens when you take something old, worn out and tired and give it new life. I also love to use things that are already in my home to create something special for our home. Thank you for visiting and I hope you come back often. If you would like a quick reference to all the blog posts in this series to date; just click here to be directed to the index page.
Okay…you can begin reading now 🙂
One thing I learned this week is that I stink at getting good before shots. A good before shot of something ugly makes the after more wow! But I’ll just have to help you understand how ugly this frame was before I make it purdy!
Remember this shot from the faux galvanizing post?
told ya it was ugly!
I wanted to see what my faux galvanizing technique what look like on wood. I came out pretty, but nothing like on metal. So different mediums will yield different results.
I began with the Rust-Oleum Hammered Silver Paint like with the metal door knob
so I just used some black chalk board paint
the directions say I can’t write on it for 7 days. I’ll let you guys tell me if that is true or not
I’m a rule follower, so I believed what the box says
but thanks to the wonderful world of Picnik
I like my $1 investment and now I can use it to leave love notes for my family!
Many blogs are currently involved in a 31 days of change
not (changed my mind) officially committing to this little adventure but I think it would be fun to try
so here is my day 1 of
31 days of before and after!
